Clindamycin and Clotrimazole Softgel Capsules comprise two medicines known as Clindamycin (antibiotic) and Clotrimazole (antifungal). Clindamycin falls under the lincomycin antibiotic group which is beneficial in hindering bacterial protein synthesis, which is necessary for the bacteria’s survival. As a result, Clindamycin hinders or stops bacterial growth but does not kill them (bacteriostatic effect). On the other hand, Clotrimazole falls under the imidazole antifungal group and causes holes in the fungi cell membrane to kill it, thereby extracting all content out.

Clindamycin and Clotrimazole Softgel Capsules are used in the treatment of yeast infection (candidiasis), vaginal infections that are caused due to bacteria, and parasitic infections (trichomoniasis). Vaginal infections or Bacterial vaginosis is caused due to the fluctuation of normal balance in the vaginal bacteria. Vaginal yeast infection or Candidiasis causes in the tissues that are located at the vagina opening (vulva). Trichomoniasis infection is caused by a parasite and is sexually transmitted.
