Letrozole Tablets fall under a medication category known as aromatase inhibitors. These tablets are used in the treatment of women with breast cancer who have gone through cessation of menses periods or menopause. Breast cancer develops in breast cells stimulated by the estrogen a female sex hormone.
How do Letrozole Tablets Work?
Letrozole Tablets contain letrozole which works by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which is involved in making the hormone estrogen. Cancer cells need estrogen to grow. So by blocking the aromatase enzyme, Letrozole Tablets stop the growth of cancer cells.
